10 Chambers, the developer behind the horror-shooter GTFO, have announced official plans for their game’s 1.0 launch. GTFO has been in development for some time now, with Early Access Rundowns that have garnered significant community feedback. Players can expect to see the game’s full release sometime later this year from Steam Early Access.

Enter the Deep, Dark Unknown

GTFO‘s reputation comes from its particular Rundown system. Through this, a new map would release for a limited time. Each would introduce new and improved mechanics and Quality of Life features, but there’s a catch. Whenever a new Rundown was released, the new map would ultimately replace the current one.

Some have wondered if the Rundown system would disappear once the official launch would come to light. Simon Viklund, Narrative Director, and Composer at 10 Chambers, actually commented on the fate of the system by saying:

During the Early Access phase, we have delivered a total of 50 expeditions in our five Rundowns, throwing a range of tough challenges to our community. There have been theories that this concept is something we’re just using during Early Access to try out different gameplay mechanics, but I am happy to say that the Rundown updates will continue withย GTFOย in Version 1.0.”

GTFO 1.0 will see multiple improvements that have been worked on during the game’s run on Steam Early Access. Graphic rendering, fresh animations, and patched-up matchmaking are only a few aspects that have been tweaked and enhanced. Players can also expect to see new environments, weapons, and utilities.

What is GTFO?

GTFO is 10 Chambers’ in-depth FPS that blends the atmospheres of Left 4 Dead and Aliens into one dynamic experience. Four players must band together to fight off a devilish entity known as The Warden. This SOB has established a complex Rundown system that forces players deeper to face off against unspeakable horrors. Through various on-and-off Expeditions that produce challenging feats, the players must make it back alive to fight another day.

You can grab GTFO right now on Steam for $34.99 before it goes up to $39.99 on November 1. And if this horror-shooter is currently on your radar, be sure to let us know with a comment below!
