Yes. We know everyone, and the potential new pope is talking about GTA 6. No, we’re not going to stop. And yes, we’re going to dissect the trailer as thoroughly as that frog you might’ve dissected in middle school. But in all seriousness, the second trailer is finally here. It is just a small piece of the Vice City pie while we wait, but it is a substantial piece. There might be a few fans who only know GTA Online, but the truth is that there were many things for longtime fans and a few others with keen eyes. So, without further ado, let’s see some of the details you may or may not have missed from the second trailer of GTA 6.

1. The Trailer Comes From Actual In-Game Graphics

Let’s start with something that a few gamers might be, well, too young to realize. Rockstar, ever since the days of GTA 3, has always launched trailers with in-game engine graphics. If you look at the trailers for GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and even GTA San Andreas, all of them come from the game’s engine. No CGI, no pre-render stuff; nothing. This might be shocking for many, especially since we see gorgeous CGI trailers and then look at vastly different in-game visuals, but that’s just how Rockstar’s quality is.

2. It Seems We’ll Have the Best Melee Combat of the Series

Some are interested in the new character models, vehicles, the huge map, and other things. Yet, not many people are talking about Lucia throwing a killer kick during the trailer. While Rockstar does many great things, melee combat is something that the studio hasn’t nailed down yet. However, it seems that GTA 6 might finally make a more fun melee combat. It is all speculation, though, but dreaming doesn’t hurt, and we still have more than a year before the game arrives, so let the tinfoil hat theories run wild.

3. A Not-So-Secret-Agent Take on Robberies

I like all robberies in GTA 5 and GTA Online, for that matter. However, some are a bit too much, and Rockstar usually tends to take things into the “secret agent” area. Allow me to elaborate. Do you remember Mike Toreno from San Andreas? Yeah. CJ turned into a literal secret agent for a while. The missions were extremely engaging, but it was a bit weird to see CJ going from gangster to agent. It is on brand with Rockstar stories, though, but it seems like, based on the trailer details, Lucia and Jason are aiming for something more grounded in GTA 6. Still, I’d love to see some high-tech, 007 robberies in GTA 6 Online.

4. The Return of Many GTA Brands

From Pisswasser to Redwood, and even Squalo, the GTA 6 had so many details about brands that everyone became that Leonardo DiCaprio meme of him pointing at the TV—at least I felt like that. It was so cool to see all these in-game brands appearing in Leonida. A few might’ve escaped my view, but some of the biggest and most important were there. Ammu-nation is still around, which is always great to see, and with a larger budget for promotional material, it seems.

5. Phone Numbers From the Trailer Work in GTA 5 (Sort of)

Since I’ve been spending too much time in GTA Online, I decided to dial some of the numbers that show up in the GTA 6 trailer, and to my surprise, they weren’t only gratuitous details. These numbers sort of work. When you dial a wrong number in GTA 5, it shows as busy and hangs up on you. However, these numbers actually work for a while, sending out two beeps, and then showing as “UNKNOWN” and “Connected.” The call ends after that, but it seems these numbers might have a part to play in GTA 5 or might be only there as an easter egg. In any case, it was fun to see they work to some extent.

6. Many Familiar Vehicles Are in Leonida, Too

Brands aren’t the only things returning to Leonida. Again, I’ve been spending a lot of time in GTA Online, which helped me realize the above image has a Buzzard Helicopter. I will always identify this weaponized menace because that’s one of the few vehicles griefers use. Aside from that, there were many sports cars in the trailer that you can actually get in GTA Online. There are many new ones, of course, but it is nice to see familiar rides in Vice City and around it.

7. Jason Is a PS5 (or PS6) Fan

The PS6 memes have flooded the internet already, saying GTA 6 gave us the first details on this console. Jokes aside, though, it is fun to see that Jason is a Sony fan (or whatever the parody name of Sony is here). On the other hand, I can’t help but worry about Sony making a deal with Rockstar and having some sort of early access for the game only on PS5 or something like that. It wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened.

8. The Realistic Makeup of Lucia

While Rockstar has always created memorable and gorgeous characters, Lucia is at the top of the food chain. One of the things that puts this queen at the top is the attention to detail in her makeup. The above image isn’t from the trailer itself. If you head to the GTA 6 website, you can see a few screenshots, and in almost all of them, Lucia has different makeup. Here, she has eyelash extensions, and in another photo you can see how her eyeliner is a bit uneven, making the makeup feel even more realistic.

9. Lucia Seems to be on Parole

While we see Lucia’s ankles in many parts of the video (yes, you know which parts), one important detail is how she’s wearing an ankle monitor, which might be important for the GTA 6 plot. In one of those scenes, we also see her returning from community service with her LDC vest. It will be fun to see how Rockstar implements this as a gameplay aspect, assuming that happens at all, but then again, it seems Lucia isn’t out of the woods even after leaving prison.

10. The Vice City PD Got a Glow Up

As someone who spent hours being chased around Vice City by the Police Department, I was surprised to see it got a glow-up. I first noticed it in the vehicles, but the helicopter, which had an iconic green tint, looks much better now. Yes, it is a very small detail, but I’m happy to see how cities we’ve visited before change drastically as time passes. It is a nice way to show us how the world keeps changing as the franchise pumps out new games. I just hope something happens with the building that has been under construction for a decade in GTA 5, but well, we’re moving to Leonida soon, so I’ll stop complaining about it.

In any case, it is great to see GTA 6 is looking way more tangible now. While we are heartbroken about the delay, these details should satiate our GTA 6 for a while. Also, there’s nothing else we can do but wait, so we might as well enjoy and dissect this trailer as much as we can while we wait for the next promotional materials.
