Going back to New York in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with Pete and Miles, you won’t get a warm welcome from the new foes and criminals you’ll face. Spidey can kick, shoot webs, use tech, and some suit upgrades to defeat the villains in the story, but sometimes, you’d need to optimize your attacking moves to get the final hit. Too many enemies around mean you’ll have less time to attack, and that’s where you’d need to master the best combos in the game to overcome the hard situations. Here are the 5 best combos in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which you can use to knock out your opponents much faster.

Normal Attacks + Dodge Combo in Spider-Man 2

Before you learn how to attack enemies with more advanced combos, it’s better to start with a basic move that you can do even at the start of the game. This move is just as simple as it reads in the header here, but it’s very effective against shield-wielding enemies.

To do this combo, you would need to start doing normal attacks by pressing the Square button three to four times. Then, press the Circle button while facing the enemy to slide under their legs. This will reset the combo and you can continue hitting that poor criminal until he forgets who he is. But remember, hitting the enemy after the dodge will make Spider-Man hit that target so hard that he’ll be thrown off.

Hit And Stick

One of the best changes in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is that you can now use your web shooters as a main gadget. By pressing R1, you can shoot webs at your enemies to web them up. But the important thing that you should know is that enemies stick to walls and surfaces if you shoot webs at them!

This combo is yet another simple trick that you can pull off right at the beginning of the game, without any upgrades and skills. First, hit the enemy toward a wall, car, barrier, or anything. Then, shoot webs at them to make them stick to that surface. You can also web up your enemies, and then hold the Triangle button to swing them into the walls; they’ll stick to there. This is an alternate way of finishing off opponents instead of knocking them. Don’t worry about your web shooters, by the way, they’ll refill quickly.

Normal Attacks + Gadgets

Upshot Gadget

Web Shooters aside, you’ve got four base gadgets in the game to use in order to achieve the best combos in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. First, you’ve got the upshot; the product of an idea by Ganke that can throw your opponents in the air. Hit your opponent by pressing the square button three to four times, and then press R1 + Triangle to activate the Upshot. Jump with the enemies in the air, and continue hitting them up there to deal more damage without getting blocked.

The other useful gadget is the Web Grabber, which will pull targets into one area, making them vulnerable to L1 + Circle attacks. This isn’t the best gadget for low-cost combo attacks, but it’ll help you deal damage to multiple targets at once. The next gadget, however, is the best when you fight the Venomous enemies and the big bad himself. The Sonic Blast helps you stun and hit these targets more without being blocked. Just hit these targets with normal attacks, and if they block you, press R1 + Circle to stun them.

The last gadget in your Spidey arsenal also has the same effect, webbing up many targets to make them vulnerable to attack. The Ricochet Web is the best when you have too many enemies around you, and they don’t let you perform your best combos in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Aerial Combo Extender Combo in Spider-Man 2

Aerial Attacks

An aerial attack is the best way you can fight targets and have the best combos in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In this state, you’re in full control, while the enemy can not hit or block you! However, most players hit the enemies in the air with a combination of four Square button attacks and then they’ll leave them be. You can continue this attack with a simple trick that extends your aerial combo.

While in the air, hit the targets with three Square button attacks only; the fourth hit will send your target flying around and we don’t want that for a combo. After three hits, hold the Triangle button near the enemy to bring them close, and hold the Square button to hit them up again. Then, it’s time to repeat and do the same trick again and again. If you are close to reaching the ground, then quickly go higher by a web swing, and then catch the target once more by holding the Triangle button.

Remember that there are many ways to launch your opponents in the air in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. You can press and hold the Square button, use your Upshot gadget, or press L1 + X. You should also note that you can start performing combos on many targets in the air by reaching each one of them by holding the Triangle button.

Wall Finisher

Some enemies are tougher to be easily webbed to the wall. And once you reach the second arc of the story, the number of heavy hitters in the enemy squad will just increase. So, to deal with these opponents, you’ll need to have an unlimited amount of finishers; which is accessible with one ultimate skill.

Starting the game off, always try to max out the skills you see in the shared skill board of Peter and Miles. Here if you check the left column, you’ll find an ability called the Wall Thrash. This makes one of the best and easiest combos you can do in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, by granting both Spider-Men to do a barge attack at enemies that are cornered.

First, hit targets until they reach a wall, then press the Square button continuously to perform a unique finisher without losing any of your focus bars. This will finish off any basic target in the game, but if you face those bigger ones, this won’t just knock them. However, their HP will be drained so much that you can just call their day by a few more hits.

Master all these five best basic combos in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and you’ll be able to mix them together for the ultimate result! Like hitting the target, then dodging to extend the combo, and launching that poor criminal in the air for an extended aerial attack.

  • You can attack the opponents and press the Circle button near them to dodge and continue the combo.
  • Throwing targets near a wall and shooting webs at them make them stick to that surface.
  • Gadgets can extend your combos in many ways.
  • Press and hold the Square button to launch enemies in the air, and hit them up again with the same button. You can grab targets in the air by holding the Triangle button to extend your combo.
  • The Wall Thrash shared skill for Peter and Miles will help you perform a free combo/finisher when cornering targets near a wall.
