5 Things Palworld Needs to Add Before Leaving Early Access

If Palworld doesn’t add these things, it won’t feel ready for a full launch.

This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

At the moment, Palworld is just in Early Access, and it still has a surprising amount of content considering it’s still just working up to a full release. That doesn’t mean it couldn’t use a lot more stuff (Not to mention, a large number of bug fixes) before it celebrates a departure from Early Access, though. There are a number of things that Pocketpair needs to add to Palworld, and hopefully, many of them come in the near future.

PvP

The multiplayer on Palworld is already a lot of fun, with the PC version supporting up to 32 players on a dedicated server. All of that is cooperative, though, which is fine, but a game like this could really use some PvP options in multiplayer. Especially considering the comparison between the game and Pokemon, it would be interesting to see how Pocketpair manages a Pal battling system. Thankfully, Pocketpair announced in its recent roadmap for Palworld that PvP is coming, although exactly when and what PvP will look like remains unknown.

Increased Level Cap

Palworld currently allows the player to rise up to level 50, and a lot happens in that time. The player ascends from using basic bludgeoning weapons and wooden bows to full arsenals of modern weaponry and industrialized working conditions for the base Pals. Once level 50 is achieved, though, which can happen quicker than some might think once catching Pals is mastered, the amount that there is to work toward can become far more limited. A new level cap on full release allowing the player to ascend even just to level 75, along with all the new additions to the technology tree that this would provide, could add a lot of variety for dedicated fans that have been around since day 1.

Pal Customization

Palworld actively encourages the player to catch a large number of Pals, particularly the same kind repeatedly, which can lead to multiples working at the same base and in the same battle party. This is all fine and dandy, but right now the only way to superficially distinguish between Pals of the same species is if one happens to be Lucky. It would be great to see systems added that allow Pals to be customized in other ways like with nicknames or accessories. Doing that would really personalize Pals and could make it easier to tell who’s just a regular old Tanzee and who’s the Tanzee that’s been with the player since the beginning.

Diverse Weaponry

Palworld already has a decent number of weapons spanning different eras and some various weapon types and rarities to go along with that. Still, the full-release version of the game could greatly benefit from even more diversity to provide better and more interesting ways for the player to approach fights. A big thing would be elemental guns. There are already bows and crossbows that utilize elemental organs for things like fire and poison damage. Having weapons that can shoot poison and shock bullets would be a really unique addition.

More Pals & Pal Gear

Of all the things that Palworld needs to add, new Pals feels the most like a given. More than likely every time there’s a major content update in the future it will come with at least one new Pal, if not a handful. Still, it’s worth noting that this will be a very important thing to come alongside the full-release version of the game, and new Pal Gear should play an equally essential role. Not only should there be Pal Gear for the new Pals, but some of the current Pals that are without Pal Gear should also get some. Spread the love.
