90 Day Fiance couple Akinyi Obala and Benjamin Taylor are now parents to an adorable baby girl. The two shared the happy news on Instagram just in time for Valentine’s Day.
First-time mom Akinyi was all smiles as she posed with her husband and their newborn daughter, Rue. The Kenya native looked glowing in a red off-the-shoulder while cradling her “sweet” baby girl. Benjamin stood proudly beside her, rocking a red and black checkered shirt to match the festive vibe.
“After struggling with infertility, we have finally held the little hands and feet that the Lord God had promised us,” Akinyi wrote. “She is a testimony of God’s love and a God who answers prayers.” Meanwhile, proud dad Benjamin is grateful for finally welcoming his daughter into the world.
90 Day Fiance: Akinyi Shares More Details About Rue
The 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days alum couldn’t help but get emotional as she experienced all the special “firsts” of motherhood.
In a separate post, Akinyi shared more details about baby Rue. The reality star revealed her daughter was overdue and that she had to be induced.
Their little bundle of joy weighed 7.0 lbs (3.18 kg) at birth and was delivered naturally. Akinyi added that her vaginal birth went smoothly, with no tearing during delivery.
“I thank God that the birth of my baby was not traumatic, but it was the most beautiful experience I have ever had,” she added. “She means the whole world to me.”
Akinyi and Benjamin also documented their birth journey, from labor to delivery. The 40-minute video already gained over 80,000 views on YouTube in just a day.
Meanwhile, other 90 Day Fiance stars were quick to congratulate the happy couple, including David Toborowsky, Annie Suwan, Anny Francisco and Kimberly Menzies.
Benjamin and Akinyi Struggled With Fertility Issues
In June 2024, Akinyi Obala and Benjamin Taylor revealed their fertility problems. The couple confirmed that they’re having trouble conceiving a child.
Akinyi, in particular, admitted that she found it difficult to deal with the issues, especially since people keep bringing it up. At one point, they even considered going the IVF route.
But the 90 Day Fiance couple shocked fans when they announced they were expecting their first child together. Since then, Akinyi and Benjamin have been actively sharing pregnancy updates on social media, much to their fans’ delight.
Akinyi and Benjamin tied the knot in April 2021 after facing many challenges in their relationship. While baby Rue is Akinyi’s first child, she’s Benjamin’s second, as he has a son named Grayson from a previous relationship.
