She-Hulk is set to hit your laptop, mobile, and TV screens at some point in the near future, but she won’t be alone.

A recent report from the website The Illuminerdi reveals that Mark Ruffalo is set to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the Disney+ series.

News of the actor’s involvement in the show comes after weeks of speculation as to whether the Hulk would return in the show. Recently, Ruffalo was only confirmed as being “in talks” for the role. Now, it’s confirmed that he’s officially signed on. In fact, it’s been claimed that he deliberately played coy in his interviews when, in actuality, he was locked in for the role for ages.

She-Hulk

It’s perhaps not that much of a surprise that the Hulk will return for She-Hulk. The big green giant and his scientist alter-ego have always played an essential role in the character’s origin story. Bruce Banner guest-starred in the first issue of The Savage She-Hulk in 1979, written by Stan Lee, as She-Hulk’s cousin. Jennifer Walters, She-Hulk’s real identity, is a lawyer who is given her incredible powers after Bruce gives her a blood transfusion to save her life.

Interestingly, in the early issues of her comic, the character could return to her human self after transforming. In later issues, she would be permanently fixed inside her She-Hulk body and be a lot more monstrous than her later self. It wasn’t until later in her comic book history that the character would be permanently locked in her She-Hulk body, and she would take on the extravagant wisecracking persona we know and love today.

As for when the She-Hulk Disney+ series is set to air, that’s unknown information at the time of writing. Filming is thought to start taking place this July, but no other casting information has been shared thus far. Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz has expressed interest in the role of She-Hulk following a fan-made petition.
