Return of the Saints

Known for being the ultimate turning point of the Saints Row franchise, Saints Row: The Third will be making its return to consoles and PC this May with a glorious remastered edition of the popular installment, entitled Saints Row: The Third Remastered.

Courtesy of Sperasoft for the graphical makeover, Deep Silver announced the project through a surprise announcement trailer that showcased comparisons between the original 2011 release and the upcoming May 2020 distribution of the upgraded look.

For whom it may concern, The Saints have grown from street gang to global phenomenon as they made their mark on the world after their adventures in Stilwater from the previous titles in the series. They soon find themselves in the troubles of the Syndicate, an opposing criminal force with its fingertips spread across the glove, who’ve taken a great interest in the up-and-rising empire of the 3rd Street Saints. Wield a vast array of weaponry and recruit new gang members to help you take on the Syndicate and reign control of Steelport.

The remastered look will include new refinements and tuning to nearly everything that was beloved from the original: the overall scope and shape of the game’s fictional city of Steelport have received grand textual reshaping with a new lighting engine being utilized to match current-gen expectations; character designs, the weapons, and the overall visual effects that made this title stood out will all be enhanced as well.

Every vehicle from the tanks to the hover jets to even the sexually explicit melee weapons will make their wonderful returns, as well as wild character customizations you’ll get to see with Co-op play and solo rides, creating chaos at every corner. Returning characters such as Roddy Piper, Zimos, and Keith David are sure to make their splendid comebacks as your trustworthy homies in the game.

Furthermore, over 30 pieces of DLC from the original version will also be updated to give new and old school homie players a chance to feast into the mayhem madness that is Saints Row: The Third. With such a short announcement, there’s no better time than now to revisit Steelport and its over-the-top storytelling, action, and open-world insanity.
