Hitman 3 is coming to next-generation consoles in January and with it, comes an end to what IO Interactive calls its “assassination trilogy.” IOI had previously confirmed they were making a third installment, but Thursday’s PS5 event marked the first time we got a look at the project.

In addition to an official announcement trailer, we also got a glimpse at one of the missions.

Hitman 3 features Agent 47 taking part in his “most intimate and professional contract” ever. He will travel to places like Dubai, among others, to complete his contract. Unsurprisingly the graphics look stunning.

The question that some gamers might ask is if they need a third installment in this series. There’s little doubt this has been a popular series since it made its arrival on current generation consoles. There wasn’t a great deal of change or additions to the gameplay between Hitman and Hitman 2. Souped-up graphics are certainly a draw, though how much will be tested.

The fact that it’s tying up a series could help in that regard. Presumably, Hitman 3 isn’t a PS5 exclusive. It’s set to land in January of 2021 and will almost certainly be coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X and PC.
