Overcooked is something of a legend when it comes to games you can play with your friends. I can’t recall how many times I’ve hopped in with some friends and had endless laughs because one of us messed up. It’s a truly awesome game, and I can’t wait for the next chance I get three other people to play it. Team17 is showing no sign of stopping the fun either, especially with today’s news. Overcooked and Overcooked 2 are being bundled into an All You Can Eat edition of the game, bringing graphical overhauls and much more to both titles. It’s releasing for both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 presumably sometime after their releases.

Overcooked: All You Can Eat takes both games and fully remasters their graphics. Overcooked is being brought into 2’s engine, bringing not only texture improvements but also online multiplayer. That’s one of the original game’s biggest complaints, so having that rectified is going to mean a lot for players. You can expect the textures to be in 4K, along with Overcooked 2 getting a 4K upgrade as well. Both games are going to look better than ever, only assisted by the hardware the next-gen consoles can provide.

Along with this, there’s several gameplay additions. Most notably, the team is adding cross-platform multiplayer to Overcooked. No longer will you be stuck playing with people on the same platform, as now PS5 and Series X users can unite to take on many kitchens. Not only will there be cross-platform, but there will also be more accessibility features. These include dyslexia-friendly text, colorblind options, and a scalable user interface. Not only that, but there’s even an Assist Mode for if things get too tough. Overcooked’s Assist Mode allows you to do things like increase round times, slow recipe timers, and skip levels entirely.

Overcooked: All You Can Eat is looking to bring more players than ever to the silly world of Overcooked. It may only be coming to next-gen, but I’m excited to see how it looks and runs regardless. I’d love to hear your opinion on the matter though. Do you think Overcooked: All You Can Eat should be brought to other platforms? If you played either Overcooked, did you have as much fun as I did? Let me know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
