Xbox Series X November
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

Today Microsoft officially announced that Xbox Series X is going to launch globally this November 2020 with “thousands of games to play.” This means you will have access to titles from the original Xbox era, Xbox 360, Xbox One, to Series X exclusives. Considering the timing, the Xbox Series X release window announcement might be a way to lessen the “impact” of the Halo Infinite delay.

Along with the announcement, Microsoft broke down their game releases and console features for when the console releases in the market. Microsoft claimed more than 100 games are going to be ready to take full advantage of Xbox Series X’s hardware this year. Among those titles are:

  • Next-generation exclusives such as The Medium, Scorn, Tetris Effect: Connected, and others.
  • 50 cross generations releases (Xbox One and Series X) like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Dirt 5, Gears Tactics, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Watch Dogs: Legion.
  • And more than 40 newly optimized previous generations games including Destiny 2, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Madden NFL 21, and more.

Microsoft promised that those newly optimized “curated list” of previous-gen titles for the console release could include 4K resolution upscale, HDR reconstruction, anisotropic filtering, and even double the frame rates. Meanwhile, with Xbox Series X hardware exclusive titles could utilize Direct X raytracing, up to 120 FPS performance, faster loading times, and ‘Quick Resume‘ feature that lets you quickly hop between running games.

And lastly, as a reminder for their Game Pass subscription push, starting September 15th Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will also be able to play 100 games including all of Xbox Game Studios’ titles — Halo, Fable, Forza — on Android devices on the go. Microsoft themselves even partnered with Samsung to add extra features on Galaxy Note 20’s Game Pass app.

Are you going to get the console when it releases in November? Or are you planning to get PS5 instead? Share us what you think of the next-gen console war in the comments below.
