The time has finally arrived for video gaming Harry Potter fans to rejoice and celebrate. An open-world RPG adventure set within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be launching next year under the title Hogwarts Legacy.
Taking place in the 1800s, you’ll live out your magical fantasy of attending Hogwarts school as a young student. There, you will carve your path into the desired witch or wizard you wish to be in this immersive tale. Learn enchanting spells, practice your defensive and offensive capabilities with your wand, and assemble companions to aid you along in your journeys.
The game’s announcement came during the PlayStation 5 Showcase, where other titles and the upcoming console’s price were revealed on September 16.
The 4K reveal trailer invites the audience to the infamous magic school for witches and wizards. Throughout the footage, we’re treated to snippets of character interaction, wand-waving, potion creating, broom handling, and fantastical beast taming. Filled with mystery and intrigue, Hogwarts Legacy gives the players multiple choices on how to live out their destiny, by constantly shaping their past and forming the foundation for years to come.

Fans of the book and film series can easily recall familiar locations that can be visited all across the game’s open-world map. Of course, new spots are introduced to expand the lore of Harry Potter further while also adhering to what we are aware of already, from the Forbidden Forest to Hogsmeade Village.
