Need For Speed Announcement Countdown
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

Today Electronic Arts just launched a new teaser site for a Need For Speed game. Aside from a countdown for the Need For Speed announcement, they barely left any clues. If you open the site, below the logo a quote reads,

5:10. How did he go so fast? Five ten. “Call Big Joe’s Pizzeria on 0800-510-510-510.” There’s got to be a way to fix this.”

Considering the numbers “5” and “10” are repeated multiple times and even showing up in the site URL (and the countdown ends in less than two days anyway), EA will likely reveal what this Need For Speed announcement is all about on October 5. In the meantime, people are speculating that this is a teaser site for a remaster of the 2010-released Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. This is primarily because the background shows a road, and Hot Pursuit is the only game that features that background. It’s only missing the blur effects and, of course, the cars.

Need For Speed Announcement Hot Pursuit

Rumors of a Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit remaster began to pop-up all over the internet back in June. The rumor was backed by a leak coming from a de-listed Amazon UK store page. The store page said that the remaster is set to be released in November 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Curiously enough, there was no mention of any next-gen consoles releases. That could be due to it being a placeholder though, seeing as Microsoft and Sony hadn’t revealed the Xbox Series X and PS5 release dates at the time.

So what do you think of this Need For Speed announcement countdown? Do you think it’s a Hot Pursuit remaster? Or is EA opening up a pizza store called Big Joe’s Pizzeria? Can’t they just release the Mass Effect Trilogy remaster first? I think the answer is pretty obvious. Still, let me know what you think in the comments below.
