Unbeknownst to many, Microsoft has a fair number of indie titles coming from their partner studios. Games like The Falconeer and The Ascent wouldn’t be possible without Xbox‘s help and support. Needless to say, fans of indies are going to be treated well when it comes to Series X titles. One such title is Call of the Sea, coming from publisher Raw Fury and developer Out of the Blue Games. The team is happy to announce that Call of the Sea is releasing on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. You can check out the release date trailer, featured below.

What is Call of the Sea?

Call of the Sea follows Nora, a young woman in search of her missing husband. He was last seen in uncharted regions of the South Pacific, leading Nora on an adventure she could’ve never expected. This island is filled with lush landscapes as far as the eye can see, hiding treasures and relics throughout. Along her journey, she’ll discover how these relics relate to ancient civilization and solve various puzzles along the way. Not to mention the game looks absolutely breathtaking, thanks to some incredibly solid art direction. If you’re into adventure games, Call of the Sea looks to satiate your appetite in an otherworldly form.

Call of the Sea promises an emotional and suspenseful journey, one that will leave you falling in love with its world and mystery. Nothing is as it seems, with clues scattered throughout to your husband’s whereabouts. Which secrets will you manage to uncover? You’ll have to wait until December 8 to find out. I am happy to say though that if you’re subscribed to Xbox Game Pass on PC or Console, you’ll get instant access on release day. Needless to say, that’s an offer I’ll be looking to take advantage of.

If you’ll be playing Call of the Sea on release day, be sure to let me know in the comments below. Otherwise, stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, guides, and more!
