If you’re a fan of the Mega Man style of action-platformers, 20XX should’ve immediately caught your eye when it was released back in 2017. It managed to blend the tightly satisfying gameplay of Mega Man X with procedural elements you expect these days, and it appears to be successful. With over 3000 Steam reviews and a 92% positive rating, it’s a game you’ll likely want to give a go at yourself. If you’re a fan of that game though, chances are you’re excited for the upcoming 30XX from the same developer. You won’t have to wait too much longer though. 30XX is releasing in Steam Early Access on February 17, bringing with it a fresh level editor. You can find the release date trailer for the game below.

30XX looks to follow in the footsteps of 20XX to provide yet another exciting experience that recaptures that classic Mega Man style. With your purchase of Early Access, you’ll immediately get access to the classic Arcade mode along with the permadeath-free Mega Mode for those who prefer a more casual experience. This time around though, 30XX is bringing a level editor so you can craft your own levels for others to play. This will launch with six different themes within Early Access, allowing you to tailor the experience to exactly how you want the player to feel.

If you’re already excited for what 30XX has to offer, here’s Chris King, founder of Batterystaple, to hype you up even more:

Early Access was hugely influential in shaping 20XX into something special, and our team can’t wait to invite the community back into the process to help us reach new heights with 30XX. Thankfully, that time isn’t far off now and we’ll be doing just that on Feb. 17, 2021. We look forward to fans leaving their mark on the game with feedback and their own designs in Maker Mode and hope to have you along for the ride.”

Will you be looking to pick up 30XX in Early Access? Are you excited to try out the level editor? Let us know in the comments below!
