It’s safe to say that Cyberpunk 2077 launched as a bit of a mess. CD Projekt Red’s latest game was hyped so heavily in the run-up to release; the problem was it was only really any good on the Stadia or PC versions. Should you be one of the unfortunate people who played on current-gen consoles, Cyberpunk was a mess of epic proportions.

As is well known, this led to a spate of refunds and even saw Sony pull it from their PSN store. Even with these issues, Cyberpunk managed to sell an absolute bucket load of units with 13 million copies sold in just 10 days.

Since then, thanks to industry analyst SuperData, it has been revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 has broken records to become the biggest digital game launch of all time. Not bad, considering you can’t buy it on PSN right now.

This actually translated to 10.2 million units being sold digitally in December, with an astonishing 80% of these being on PC. Hopefully, this means that players haven’t regretted their purchase as there definitely is a promising game to be found in Cyberpunk. It’s just a shame it was released in the way it was.

We know for a fact that CD Project Red is still working hard to optimize the game as patch version 1.1 has recently been released. Said to be just the start of a series of updates, patch 1.1 addressed many bugs and stability issues that plagued the game.

Unfortunately, this patch also saw some players affected by a game-breaking bug. Let’s hope that subsequent patches manage to get things working the way they should be, and by the time we all manage to buy PlayStation 5’s, the game is the very best it can be.

If you are one of the people who bought Cyberpunk, either digitally or physically, be sure to let us know your thoughts on it in the comments. Do you regret your purchase, or have you managed to have fun?
