Beachhead Expedition No Man's Sky
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

Hello Games has announced that the second of No Man’s Sky‘s shared journey multiplayer ‘Expeditions’ launches today, the Beachhead Expedition. The British developer announced as much in an update published on the No Man’s Sky website today, promising a ‘very different pace and structure’ to the Pioneers Expedition launched last month.

Dubbed Beachhead, the second Expedition continues Hello Games’ goal of providing a distinct flavor to each of the No Man’s Sky shared experiences. Much like Pioneers, players start on the same planet and must embark on a journey, uncovering remote systems, with a trove of limited edition rewards as the dangling carrot. Nearly five years on from No Man’s Sky’s less than peachy release, there’s certainly no shortage of things for players to sink their teeth into these days.

Understandably, Hello Games is staying cryptic and not revealing too much about what’s in store in the latest No Man’s Sky Beachhead Expedition other than the brief tease below.

Nada and Polo’s regular research effort aboard the Space Anomaly has shifted into a new gear. Priest Entity Nada has detected something thought impossible: a fluctuation in history already written. A new pattern is emerging in the stories of the ancient Gek, Korvax, and Vy’keen. Something is stirring from across the universe. Can you hear it?”

No Man’s Sky Patch 3.40

Additionally, Hello Games has taken the opportunity to push out a new patch to support the Beachhead Expedition and fix a few lingering No Man’s Sky issues as well. Full notes just below:

  • Added a new class of procedural upgrade module for the starship Launch Thrusters.
  • Fixed an issue that caused incorrect text labels on Communications Stations.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Exosuit boot sequence from playing correctly in Expeditions mode.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause asteroids to intersect with player fleets.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed secondary ships to be summoned when they were out of fuel.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some UI screens to be positioned incorrectly when using an ultrawide monitor.
  • Fixed an issue that caused incorrect camera positioning while interacting with a number of objects.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented a number of Quicksilver titles from unlocking in Creative Mode.
  • Fixed an exploit that could allow players to bypass protections against building in other player’s bases.
  • Fixed a crash related to terrain tesselation.
  • Fixed a crash related to saving base data.
  • Fixed an Xbox-specific crash related to memory management.

Once again, No Man’s Sky‘s Beachhead Expedition is available now on PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
