Disney has officially revealed The Book of Boba Fett premiere date. Today, they announced via Twitter that the new original series about the galaxy’s greatest bounty hunter will premiere on Disney+ on December 29, 2021. Accompanying this announcement, Disney also shared a first look at the series with a poster, which you can check out below:

In the announcement, Disney teases, “His story is only beginning.” Perhaps meaning that there is more about the son of Jango Fett that fans have yet to see and learn. No matter the case or story ahead, the role of Boba Fett will again be played by Temuera Morrison, who previously appeared as Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of The Clones and as Boba Fett in The Mandalorian. Joining Morrison for The Book of Boba Fett premiere as well as the rest of the series is Ming-Na Wen, who will be reprising her role as Fennec Shand from The Mandalorian. Aside from these stars, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez will serve as executive producers. Favreau, who is the creator behind The Mandalorian, previously served as an executive producer on The Mandalorian alongside Filoni.

The Book of Boba Fett series fulfills a promise made to fans in the season two finale of The Mandalorian. In a post-credits scene, Boba Fett and Fennec arrive in Jabba the Hutt’s former palace, which was first seen in Return of the Jedi. Jabba’s right-hand man/alien/whatever he is, Bib Fortuna, sits on the throne. However, Boba shoots him and claims the throne for himself.

Boba Fett

While The Book of Boba Fett premiere is exciting for fans, it is just one of the many pieces of Star Wars content coming to Disney+. Numerous other spinoffs are coming soon as well, including The Rangers of the New Republic series and the Ashoka series.
