The final Zombies map is here for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and with it comes a brand new wonder weapon. This one is called the Chrysalax, an axe crafted by the Aetherium crystals of the Dark Aether which can also turn into a high fire rate SMG. It is a powerful weapon that you will want to get your hands on, especially since it is needed for the map’s main quest. This guide will show you how to get and build the Chrysalax on the new Call of Duty Zombies map, Forsaken.
How to Get the Chrysalax Wonder Weapon
There are four ways to get the brand new wonder weapon on Forsaken: three require a bit of luck while the other one requires you to collect three parts to build it. The first way is the classic one of just hitting the mystery box. Just keep spinning the box until the weapon comes out, just like it’s been done since World at War. The other way that is present in all Cold War maps is the challenge podium. Spend some points to start a challenge, ranging from getting kills with certain weapons to surviving in a certain location on the map, keep completing these tasks until the reward you will receive is labeled “Legendary.” The rewards you can get at this tier are a free Pack-a-Punched weapon, a free perk, or the Chrysalax. You will also get a free Fire Sale, so if you don’t get the weapon, do hit the box again! Now, onto the ways to acquire the wonder weapon that is exclusive to the new map.
After lifting the lockdown, zombies can start to drop an item called an “Arcade Token.” These can be used at the Arcade to play a set of games, one of which is displayed as a pinball machine called “Der Eisendrache,” a fun reference to the fan-favorite map from Black Ops 3. Using the token on this will teleport you to a platform and task you with feeding a dragon that you find in the Outbreak map. Fully feeding the dragon in the time limit will reward you with a Gold Chest, which has a chance to spawn the Chrysalax. Now, enough of this RNG stuff, let me tell you how to build the weapon and guarantee that you get it.

How to Build the Chrysalax Wonder Weapon
There are three parts needed to build the Chrysalax wonder weapon: Polymorphic Crystal Core, Energetic Geode, and Tempered Crystal Heart. First, you will need to summon the Forsaken. To do this, go to the Pack-a-Punch room and find the window that is covered by shutters.ย There is a red button to the right of the window. A prompt doesn’t show up, but you need to interact with the button to play a cutscene. Once it’s done, you start the process of building the wonder weapon on Forsaken.
Go through two rounds then head to Jim’s Donut shop on Main Street. The character Ravenov will let you know that something had crash-landed there, which is the Polymorphic Crystal Core. Walk into the store and kill enemies near the rock until the shield surrounding it disappears. This is when you can pick up the Polymorphic Crystal Core. To get the Energetic Geode, you need to get the Abomination boss enemy to shoot his laser at one of the many Dark Aether crystals that you can find around the map. Doing so will turn the crystal into the Energetic Geode. To get the Tempered Crystal Heart, you will need to use a flamethrower on a Tormentor zombie. These are the red, fast-moving enemies that debut in Mauer Der Toten. Killing them with the flamethrower will drop the item. With that, you are now able to build the wonder weapon.
Once you have all the items, go to the Bunker and go to the pool of Aetherium found next to the particle accelerator. Place the items in the pool and get melee kills next to it until a large explosion happens. You will then be able to go pick up the Chrysalax and use it throughout the new Zombies map for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War!
