Today is a big day for the Call of Duty franchise, as we received an interesting news update regarding the anti-cheat system planned for Vanguard and Warzone, which is named the Ricochet ant-cheat system.

Cheating has become a serious contention for many players in the Call of Duty community, especially regarding Warzone. The hacking and cheating situation has become so severe that cheaters are an everyday occurrence for many, and large amounts of players have stopped playing the game as a result. It’s clear Activison have been hearing these cries, with an announcement teased on October 12, but now serious information has been shared by the Call of Duty creators, and it seems extremely promising so far.

Ricochet anti-cheat system

Call of Dutyโ€™s new Ricochet Anti-Cheat system delivers server-level enhancements to better provide backend security and protection against hackers. It will be available when Vanguard launches on November 5 and arrives with Warzoneโ€™s Pacific map later this year. On top of that, Ricochet will also allow for โ€œenhanced investigation processes to stamp out cheaters,โ€ while also working on updates to โ€œstrengthen account security.โ€

In a blog post from Call of Duty, the company states that the โ€œRicochet Anti-Cheat is a multi-faceted approach to combat cheating,โ€ with the systemโ€™s โ€œnew server-side toolsโ€ able to โ€œmonitor analytics to identify cheating.โ€

On top of all of these features, a kernel-level driver will be arriving later in the year, which is a serious feature, comparable to Valorant’s anti-cheat system, which is considered one of the very best in the gaming community. Activision has confirmed that the kernel-level driver will be required to play Call of Duty: Warzone once it becomes available later this year. Players on PC will be unable to play Warzone if they donโ€™t want to have the kernel-level driver installed.

What do you think about what Activision has promised so far for the Warzone anti-cheat system, and do you think it’ll be successful? let us know in the comments.
