The new Xbox One Experience and backward compatibility capability will start hitting Xbox One users on November 12, 2015, tweeted Larry Hyrb.
This update is supposed to introduce a whole host of new features when it releases. The overhaul is set to improve the user interface with a revamped dashboard, new community section and the ability to play certain Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One console. Based upon Microsoft’s Windows 10, the new dashboard is much easier and faster to navigate than the old one, with a more streamlined look and vertical scrolling that is going to allow players to access “popular gaming features up to 50 percent faster.” Your Xbox One has been running Windows 10 for a while now (that’s why you can connect it so easily to a Windows 10 PC), so it is only natural that the UI be integrated with it as well. Many users that took part in the preview program reported quite a number of issues with the new interface, such as certain games failing to load, apps were not working and many others. Hopefully, most of these issues will have been ironed out prior to the general roll out of the update.

The “most asked after” feature coming with the New Xbox One Experience is the addition of backward compatibility which will allow Xbox One users to install and play certain Xbox 360 games on their XO console. Currently, there aren’t many games confirmed to be backward compatible, but there are some gems in there, like Gears of War, Mass Effect, and Shadow Complex.
