At a recent investor’s strategy meeting in Japan, the big N has lifted the lid on “Nintendo Account”, the new account system as well as their first smartphone game.

The new account will connect hardware users, as well as PC and smart devices, said Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimisha. The Japanese game maker will implement a cloud-based server system to transfer data between hardware. Following the trend of making games more social, the new account system will connect with Facebook, Gmail, other email platforms, Twitter, and existing Nintendo Network IDs.

Additionally, Kimisha announced their new rewards program, Nintendo Account Point Program. Essentially the new Club Nintendo, whenever players purchase games, they will earn points which can be used to purchase digital copies of Nintendo games, exclusive Nintendo merchandise such as posters and plushies, and discounts on newer releases.

Mr. Kimisha shed more light on the company’s first smartphone game titled “Miitomo”. Although no actual gameplay details were given, it was revealed Miitomo will be free to play and have “attractive add-ons that people can pay for” said Kimisha. He went on to announce future released mobile games will be pay-to-download.

CEO Tatsumi Kimishima says there are more titles–unannounced–coming this year to promote both Wii U and 3DS during the year-end holiday season.
