The world was astounded when, earlier this year, at E3 2015 Square Enix dropped the bombshell that was news of a Final Fantasy VII remake. Unfortunately, it has now been confirmed that the mastermind behind the original games musical score, Nobuo Uematsu, will not be involved in any way.

When asked if he would be participating in the making of the Final Fantasy VII remake, during an interview with Juex Video, he answered simply: โ€œNot at allโ€.

"Pas du tout."

Nobuo Uematsu was the main composer for every single main series Final Fantasy entry up until Final Fantasy XI. Mr. Uematsu left Square Enix in 2004 in order to form his own company Smile Please. After his nearly two-decade long tenure Uematsu still occasionally does work for Square Enix so the concept of him being involved in the production of this Final Fantasy VII remake was not entirely out of the question. Until now that is.

Currently, Square Enix is in the process of porting the Steam version of Final Fantasy VII, which is a digital release of the original 1998 PC port, to Playstation 4, which is where the remake will end up at some unannounced future date before eventually making its way to other platforms.
