Elden Ring- The Best Astrologer Build
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

To make the best Astrologer build in Elden Ring, Tarnished adventurers will need to gather both suitable gear and spells to become the ultimate mage class. They must ensure they allocate the bulk of their stat points into Intelligence and Mind while maintaining a solid balance between Endurance and Vigor. This is because Stamina is required to cast spells in Elden Ring, and having enough HP to withstand getting one-shot is paramount. Naturally, which mage gear or playstyle is “best” for the Astrologer will primarily depend on a player’s preference. However, there are several pieces of equipment and Sorceries that objectively outshine others when put together.

While hybrid and caster mages are far from ineffective in combat, the one-cast-kill mage still stands out as the best Astrologer build in Elden Ring. This build’s setup involves utilizing Comet Azur, the “laser-beam” spell that can bring bosses to 0 HP within seconds. Tarnished Astrologers must understand how to acquire this Spell and the loadout that best fits it.

Comet Azur is obtained by interacting with Primeval Sorcerer Azur, located northeast of Hermit Village, by the cliffs in Mt. Gelmir. Those who are completing Sellen’s story will encounter this NPC as a part of their quest objective. However, acquiring this Sorcery is only the first step to making the best Astrologer build in Elden Ring. No matter how much FP one has, it will not be enough to utilize the Comet Azur fully, but Cerulean Hidden Tear solves this issue. This Wondrous Physick mix grants mages 15 seconds of unlimited mana, allowing them to cast any Sorcery they wish with no FP cost, an essential tool for one-cast-kill mages. Cerulean Hidden Tear is obtained by defeating the Ulcerated Tree Spirit beneath the slope leading to Volcano Manor.

Once Tarnished mages have Comet Azur and Cerulean Hidden Tear, their next focus should be on obtaining gear that will best empower this Spell. Here is a brief list of optimal equipment and Sorceries for one-cast-kill Astrologers in Elden Ring:

  • Lusat’s Glintstone Staff
  • Azur’s Glintstone Crown
  • Lusat’s Glintstone Crown
  • Graven-School Talisman
  • Graven-Mass Talisman
  • Magic Scorpion Charm
  • Terra Magica
  • Stars of Ruin
  • Glintstone Cometshard

Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
