Kingdom Hearts 4 Trailer Officially Released

During the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Event held in Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday, April 10, 2022, Square Enix officially released the trailer for the long-anticipated announcement featuring the Kingdom Hearts 4. The new Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer offers a first glimpse into the all-new story focusing on the main character, Sora, following the events of Kingdom Hearts 3.

The all-new Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer is our first official look into the long-awaited follow-up to 2019’s Kingdom Hearts 3. In the trailer, the Sora, the central character of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, can be seen awakening in a strange city in the world of Quadratum, which Square Enix has described as “a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the Kingdom Hearts series.”

Sora can be seen running through the city streets and facing off against a giant Heartless creature, a form of the main enemy of the Kingdom Hearts series, before the title card appears. Donald and Goofy, Sora’s allies, also appear briefly in the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer, alongside two cloaked figures who are most likely members of the main antagonistic group, Organization XIII. There is currently no release window planned for Kingdom Hearts 4. It is also unknown what platforms it will be available on at this time.

According to Square Enix, Kingdom Hearts 4 will mark the beginning of a new storyline titled the ‘Lost Master Arc,’ a follow-up to the Dark Seeker Saga that has covered every game up until Kingdom Hearts 3.

Also, during the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Event, Square Enix announced a series of mobile spin-off Kingdom Hearts games, including Missing Link, which will be available in specific regions this year via a beta.

We want to thank the fans for all of their support over the years, and we can’t wait for them to experience all that’s to come for Sora,” said the series brand manager, Ichiro Hazama, in a statement.

We’ve been honored to work with Tetsuya Nomura and his team for two decades to introduce these original stories of discovery, courage, and friendship. This glimpse into Sora’s next adventure is just the beginning – we can’t wait to show more when the time is right.”
