The new Resident Evil Netflix series is hoping to arrive on July 14th, 2022, which you might find odd, seeing as Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is still fresh in people’s minds since it was released last summer. However, this new Resident Evil Netflix series is a live-action story, and with it comes not one but two brand-new trailers that hope to give fans a little insight into what to expect. Watch the first trailer below.

This new live-action TV series is led by writer-producer Andrew Dabb (from Supernatural fame), and it aims to reimagine Capcom’s Resident Evil series as a fast-paced, action-packed, time-hopping story of survival with extreme horror. It’s a bold move to create a group of new characters and introduce them into a world that has become synonymous with the classic characters, we wonder how it will be received by fans.

What is this new Resident Evil series all about?

This new Netflix series involves a non-linear time jumping concept, set both in the current day in New Racoon City in South Africa but also in the year 2036. This new Resident Evil focuses on Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska) as she fights for survival in a world that has become plagued by zombies. Jade must also discover what happened to her sister Billie (Adeline Rudolph) 14 years after the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. Lance Reddick (The Wire) also stars as the girl’s father, Albert Wesker. Take a look at the second trailer below to get a further idea of the story.

As you can tell from the second trailer, it shows the different threats that Jade and her family will need to face in order to survive: Lickers, zombie dogs, and Giant Worm-looking creatures, all of which don’t look like cuddly little pets.

This new Resident Evil Netflix series will consist of eight episodes, and it will premiere globally on July the 14th. Fans of the franchise will either be tearing their hair out or watching it with blissful engagement.
