Paramount+ canceled Why Women Kill after two seasons, as reported by Variety. What is strange about the news is that the series was renewed to return for a third season in December 2021.

“Paramount+ has made the difficult decision not to move forward with Season 3 of Why Women Kill,” a Paramount+ spokesperson said in a statement. “We would like to thank our partners at CBS Studios and Imagine Television Studios, the amazing creator and showrunner Marc Cherry and the incredible writers, cast and crew for two memorable seasons.”

The series originated in 2019 when it was available on CBS All Access, which was eventually renamed to the service we know today. The second season went live between June and July 2021 before Paramount+ canceled Why Women Kill. It was an anthology series following women from different decades who lived in the same house as they dealt with issues in their marriage like betrayal and infidelity.

Before Paramount+ Canceled ‘Why Women Kill’

The first season was set between 1963, 1984, and 2019. It starred Ginnifer Goodwin (Once Upon a Time), Lucy Liu (Kill Bill), Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Good Place), and Alexandra Daddario (The White Lotus). The second focused only on one woman in 1949, which starred Allison Tolman (Fargo), Lana Parrilla (Once Upon a Time), B.K. Cannon (Switched at Birth), Jordane Christie (Law & Order: Organized Crime), Matthew Daddario (Shadowhunters), Veronica Falcón (Ozark), and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead). Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean) was in both seasons. In total, it ran for 20 episodes.

The series was created by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives). He also acted as showrunner and executive producer. Brian Grazer, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Marc Webb, Samie Kim Falvey, Francie Calfo, and David Warren executive produced. CBS Studios and Imagine Television Studios co-produced the series.

Although it has been canceled, you can watch Why Women Kill on Paramount+.
