D3 Publisher announced the development of a new action game by Shade Inc. on Wednesday. The game in question is titled Samurai Maiden and will be released on several consoles and platforms. Along with this announcement, D3 Publisher also streamed an announcement trailer to show the gameplay and art for Samurai Maiden. As of now, players can be sure to have a fluid, colorful experience playing this new game from the developers/

The Samurai Maiden game features a hack and slash gameplay paired with combination attacks and counters. The story follows Tsumugi Tamaori, who becomes a samurai in the Sengoku period. Story-wise, the game is described as follows;

Samurai Maiden follows the story of a high school student who fell alseep after a boring day of history lessons. Now, she iis walking alongside Nobunaga Oda, the first great unifier in Japan. The two find themselves at the burning Honnoji Temple where the underworld has opened. Having trained in the art of sword fighting as a hobby, Tsumugi is suddenly put to the test in actual battle as she is gifted the evil reading blade by Nobunaga. Even Tsumugi, an admittedly poor history student, recognizes Oda as the hero of the Sengoku period and understands that she must rise to the bizarre occasion.

Along with playing as Tsumugi, the game will also feature three ninjas; hardworking Iyo, the older Hagane with a mechanical body, and genius Komimi, known as The Gogake. The “Gogake System” will consist of rapid combinations of Tsumugi’s sword style and the use of the Gogake ninjutsu. There will also be unlockable special abilities the farther the players gets into the game.
