Xbox and Samsung have officially joined forces with Fortnite and the Xbox app, which will allow players to game on a Smart TV with any Bluetooth controller, transforming a normally confined console experience into a mobile and sharable experience with games like Fortnite, the newest chapter of which was displayed by gaming-legend Ninja at The Game Awards 2022.

The Xbox app is available through the Samsung Gaming Hub on most Samsung Smart TVs, taking away the need for a gaming console or clunky clusters of wires. With the Xbox app hooked up to a Samsung Smart TV, gamers will be available to connect a Bluetooth controller to the TV and play without needing to load a disc into a console, which gaming expert Ninja showed in an exclusive video clip at TGA 2022.

Ninja Plays Fortnite on Smart TV at The Game Awards 2022

Ninja, whose legal name is Richard Tyler Blevins, is a streamer and gaming YouTuber with over 18 million followers on Twitch whoโ€™s also played Halo 3 and Fortnite Battle Royale competitively. In an exclusive video for TGA 2022, Ninja showed off the new compatibility between the Xbox app and Samsung Gaming Hub by exploring the latest chapter of Fortnite on his TV, exploring the islandโ€™s new locations and vehicles, according to a press release by Samsung.

โ€œIโ€™m always hyped when a new Fortnite season comes out because itโ€™s the one time every player is on the same level, nobody knows whatโ€™s coming,โ€ Ninja said in the video. โ€œAnd being able to play on my Samsung Smart TV through the Xbox app without a console was next level. Honestly, I canโ€™t think of an easier way to pick up a controller and start playing.โ€

Fortnite, which runs on Unreal Engine 5.1, will be available on all 2021 Samsung Smart TVs, along with a ton of other games under Xbox Game Pass, as the collaboration between Xbox and Samsung rolls out. Samsung reports that existing Samsung customers will have access to the same games available through the Samsung Gaming Hub on 2022 Smart TVs and Monitors by expanding the Gaming Hub to select 2021 Samsung Smart TVs.

Samsung Gaming Hub has no storage limit, no downloads, and no new gear required โ€“ experience your new gaming experience on the Xbox app through Samsung Smart TVs today.
