Following the massive success that is The Walking Dead and its post-show The Talking Dead, AMC has now ordered a late-night talk show centered around “fanboy-ism.” The Talking Dead has been almost as popular and engaging as it’s source material from the successful comic series-turned-TV show, and it appears they’ll be taking that same mentality to a greater audience and fanbase.

Everyone’s favorite “Fatman on Batman” Kevin Smith, will co-host the 30-minute show with fellow geek Greg Grunberg. With the working title of “Geeking Out,” it appears as though Smith is extremely excited to keep his relationship and non-fiction work going on the AMC network. His popular Comic Book Men series has been running strong since 2012 and continues to go strong. In a statement Smith said:

AMC has been my TV family for five seasons of Comic Book Men now, so I know that Geeking Out is in the perfect, fan-friendly network hands… I can’t wait to lose fluids on the airwaves of my favorite channel over the genre gems we’re gonna get insider access to due to gregarious Greg’s bonafides!

Grunberg said in a statement of his own:

I am going to get every single genre-based writer, director and actor I know to come on our show and geek out with us. And they’re going to thank me for it. I love how Kevin Smith smells and we fit together like two hibernating fan-bears. Thanks to AMC and the Weinsteins, the rest of the world is going to get to see what’s inside our dark, dank geek cave. It’s going to be a fun 30 minutes, if I can just get Kevin to stop talking and smoking.

Geeking Out will premiere right after one of the biggest geek and nerd culture phenomenon of the year, Comic Con 2016. In the statement Smith released, he also mention that the series will be a nine-part pilot of sorts and will be produced by The Weinstein Company with Bandwagon Media and Smith and Grunberg serving as executive producers.
