Pokemon has become an intricate game over the years. With each passing generation, it becomes even more involved for some. There have been many changes that both casual and veteran players need to keep track of. One of those was the hidden abilities that made their appearance way back in Hoenn. These abilities are a great boon to many Pokémon and can turn the tide of almost all battles. For competitive players, this is quite important and it can also be for casual ones. So, whether you’re doing high-tier Tera Raids or battling other people, there’s an item you’ll need. The Ability Patch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is one of the most useful additions to the game and today we tell you how to get it.

If you’re looking for a way to ensure a hidden ability in any specific pocket monster, you’ll have to wait a bit. While there are many items out there that you can get on your journey, some only appear once you finish the game. This is the case for the Ability Patch. Here’s how to get the Ability Patch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:

You can find many items in the wild or by doing a number of battles and getting items for free in Pokémon Centers, yet, that’s not the case for the Ability Patch. To get it, you need to do the following steps:

  • Finish all three main stories
  • Do the final mission
  • Rematch all Gym Leaders
  • Participate in the Ace Tournament

Doing all of these things will open the chance for you to get the Ability Patch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. While it isn’t a guaranteed drop in post-game activities, there are two things you can do to get it:

  • Participate in 6-star Tera Raids
  • Do the Academy Ace Tournament

Both things have a very low chance of giving you an Ability Patch. This is a great item that’ll let you change your Pokémon’s ability to its hidden one. Yet, you’ll be grinding both activities a lot of time to get the item. Tera Raids and the tournament are still great ways to get more items and experience so it isn’t bad. This is the best way to get the Ability Patch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. So, make sure that you hit these activities as soon as you finish the game.
