It’s no secret that Gryffindor House is one of the most popular in the Harry Potter universe. The home of the brave and the bold, getting into Gryffindor is the goal of many Hogwarts Legacy players. In the original lore, the Sorting Hat determines one’s House placement during the Sorting Ceremony, which is how Harry, Ron, and Hermione joined the bravest house. Basically, the hat judges each student based on a variety of qualities and puts them wherever it deems best. In the game, however, things work a bit differently. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get Gryffindor in Hogwarts Legacy.
How To Get Gryffindor in Hogwarts Legacy
Named after Godric Gryffindor, the House of the Lion is coveted by many players. It’s the house of The Boy Who Lived, so it’s no surprise many fans are eager to find themselves counted beside him. Hogwarts Legacy takes an unusual approach to sorting players, giving them two methods. Thankfully, neither path forward in this open-world RPG is difficult. The first way to get into Gryffindor in Hogwarts Legacy uses the in-game Sorting Ceremony. The Second lets the Wizarding World website do the sorting for you.
Get Gryffindor in the Sorting Ceremony in Hogwarts Legacy
Once you create your character in the game and get to Hogwarts, you’ll soon find yourself on that stool sitting under the Sorting Hat. It will ask you a handful of questions, and you can choose the more obvious Gryffindor-like answers. For instance, it may say that it detects something in you, and you can select “Daring” among the answers presented. The Sorting Hat will then suggest that you are a Gryffindor, and a pop-up screen will appear to confirm it. If the Sorting Hat recommends something other than Gryffindor, you can select “Choose a Different House” instead and pick it. At least it’s easy to make sure you don’t get Slytherin.
Get Gryffindor on the Wizarding World Website
If you want something a bit more elaborate and immersive, you can choose the second option. To get started, visit the Wizarding World website and take the official Sorting Hat quiz. Before you do so, you will have to either log in or create an account. Hogwarts Legacy can then sync with your WB Games account, so if the quiz sorts you into Gryffindor here, it will take that into account and sort you into the House in Hogwarts Legacy.
This method is a bit riskier because it depends on you choosing the right answers, and because the questions are randomized, there’s no real guide to follow. Your best bet is to select the most Gryffindor-aligned choices as possible. Gryffindor is all about courage, bravery, and nerve. So, take heroic-like answers each time. Here are just some of the questions that might pop up:
- Question: How would you like to be known in History?
- Answer: The Bold
- Question: Which of the following would you most hate people to call you?
- Answer: Selfish
- Question: Given the choice, would you rather invent a potion that would guarantee you:
- Answer: Glory?
- Question: Black or White?
- Answer: Black
- Question: If you could have any power which would you choose?
- Answer: Power of Invisibility
- Question: Four goblets are placed before you. Which would you choose to drink?
- Answer: The golden liquid is so bright that it hurts the eye and which makes sunspots dance all around the room.
Again, these are only a few of the questions you might see, but this gives you an idea of the type of answers you want to choose. If you do it right, you will get Gryffindor in the quiz and in Hogwarts Legacy.
