Cities: Skylines is a classic city-building game that continually gains new fans thanks to its remaster. It’s a great way to pass the time or stretch your creative skills to new levels. If you want to get the best resources for your city, then you need the buildings that are the most difficult to obtain: Monuments. In Cities: Skylines, once you unlock Monuments, you will notice just how much they improve your needs. We’ll show you everything you need to get all 8 Monuments.

How to Unlock All 8 Monuments in Cities: Skylines

As we mentioned, Monuments are the highest you can get in terms of helping your city’s needs and resources. They can replace many buildings. However, they are not the easiest to access. So, don’t think you will unlock Monuments in Cities: Skylines right away. In fact, to even get the opportunity to build Monuments, you must go through the various milestones:

So, if you want to unlock access to Monuments, you need quite the population in Cities: Skylines. Once you make it that far, you can then work on the specific requirements for every Monument. We’ve listed them all below. If you are struggling, you can always jump to the specific Monument:

Monument Unlock: Castle of Lord Chirpwick

You can only unlock the Castle of Lord Chirpwick Monument if you have the Parklife DLC in Cities: Skylines. This has a high entertainment value to attract a lot of people. Plus, it adds 25% to the overall attractiveness of all your Unique Buildings.

Here are the Unique Buildings you need to unlock this Monument:

  • City Arch
  • Clock Tower
  • Old Market Street
  • Sea Fortress
  • Observation Tower
  • The Statue of Colossalus

Cost: 1,900,000

Cities: Skylines Monument Unlock: Doomsday Vault

For the Doomsday Vault, you need the Natural Disasters DLC. With it, you’ll increase how many citizens can fit in the shelters around the city. It even increases the storage size of food and water.

Monument Unlock: Eden Project

The Eden Project Monument can work to eliminate city pollution and raise land value to improve income.

  • Statue of Industry
  • Friendly Neighborhood Park
  • Official Park
  • Gateway Arch
  • Servicing Services Offices
  • Cathedral of Plentitude

Monument Unlock: Fusion Power Plant

When you unlock the Fusion Power Plant Monument, you can drastically improve the electricity in Cities: Skylines. It has a power output of 16,000 MW and can replace any other power source you have. However, it needs quite a bit of water to operate.

  • Plaza of the Dead
  • Fountain of Life and Death
  • Tax Office
  • Observatory
  • Science Center
  • MAM Modern of Art Museum

The Hadron Collider offers education for everyone. It has a capacity of 1,000,000 students per education step. To unlock it, gain the following Unique Buildings:

  • Statue of Shopping
  • Posh Mall
  • Colossal Order Offices
  • Grand Library
  • Aquarium
  • Theater of Wonders

Cost: 800,000

Monument Unlock: Medical Center

With the Medical Center, you can replace all the hospitals in the city. It increases patient capacity to 1,000 and ambulances to 50.

Acquire these Unique Buildings to unlock it:

  • Lazaret Plaza
  • Mall of Moderation
  • Court House
  • Oppression Office
  • High Interest Tower
  • Sea-and-Sky Scraper

Cities: Skylines Monument Unlock: Space Elevator

As the Space Elevator brings plenty of tourists to the city, be sure to have some great transportation lines around it. You want to get as many people as possible as it can help the sales in the city.

  • Statue of Wealth
  • Transport Tower
  • Grand Mall
  • Opera House

  • Stadium

Cost: 1,500,000

Monument Unlock: Ultimate Recycling Plant

For this Monument, you must have the Green Cities DLC. The Ultimate Recycling Plant will process several units of garbage, creating goods and raw materials. You can keep them to benefit your city or export them for money.

The Unique Buildings needed are:

  • Bird and Bee Haven
  • Climate Research Station
  • Lungs of the City
  • Floating Gardens
  • Ziggurat Garden
  • Central Park

Cost: 750,000
