Once you begin the RE4 Remake, you’ll reach a village where people suddenly attack you! They are, in fact, not ordinary people, and here’s a guide on how you can survive the village attack in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 is the newest remake by Capcom. The game was a hit back in 2005, and the remake delivers the best to reimagine that incredible journey again. However, every main event in the original version is still present here in the remake.

One of the most critical scenarios of the RE4 was the village attack at the beginning of the game. In this scene, Leon is still looking for Ashley, and he reaches a village. The villagers are all infected. Thus they attack you in numbers, and you have to fight them off.

How to Fight Off The Village Attack in Resident Evil 4 Remake

RE4 Remake

You can handle the village attack in Resident Evil 4 Remake in two ways. You must either run away from the enemies for 5 minutes or kill 13 of them.

Now you can take your chances and start running in loops to prevent enemies. But escaping these villagers and the chainsaw man for 5 minutes isn’t easy! So the suggested way is to fight.

When facing the square fire at the beginning, head to the house on the left side. Here you’ll see Leon closes the door, and you can loot the place to find ammo, a grenade, and a shotgun. You might also find a healing spray.

Now there is another grenade on the house located on the right side of the square, and you need to pick that up too. After having two grenades, all you have to do is to gather the villagers around by making loops. And then throw the grenades to kill many of them.

You can quickly kill 7-8 enemies with the grenades. Now take care of the rest of the villagers with the shotgun with one shot to the head. But if you want to do this with the handgun, don’t waste your time shooting them in the head or upper body. Instead, shoot their legs to enable a melee attack or suplex them from behind!

Remember, there’s an easter egg for finishing the village attack in Resident Evil 4 Remake. You can finish the sequence by going to the house on the left side of the square, heading upstairs, and getting out of the window. Then you need to do a clean shot on the bell in far sight. This is nearly impossible without a sniper rifle.

Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 Remakes are currently available for PlayStations 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
