Apple’s MacBook 2016 was just released, forcing all Apple users to answer the yearly question of whether they need to buy it or not.

At its core, this year’s iteration is very similar to last year’s MacBook. It sports the latest sixth-generation Intel Core M processor and the option to configure each laptop to a 1.3GHz chip. The new model also boasts faster memory and the flashy new Intel HD Graphics 515 chip, which according to Apple, will offer up to 25 percent boost in graphics performance and improved battery life over the MacBook 2015. Interestingly enough, the 2016 model’s processor can only be Turbo Boosted up to 2.2GHz, down from the 2015 2.4GHz boost. Aside from that, the MacBook 2016 holds improvements in most other specs over last years’. It also comes in Rose Gold as a new aesthetic option.

Despite just shipping today, the Macbook 2016 already has a software update for new users. The update which triggers as soon as the computer is turned on addresses some Bluetooth changes. According to AppleInsider, who found the patch, the update “improves compatibility with third-party Bluetooth devices, and is recommended for all users.” This update will be crucial for those looking to connect secondary devices to the laptop. The update is pretty small, 157 MB in size, meaning it shouldn’t take long to download.
