Many fans may believe they already know everything there is to know about the mutant Apocalypse. He has been featured in X-Men story arcs for both comics and TV shows alike. However, a new teaser video for the upcoming movie intends on helping to clarify his past – and show just how dangerous this original mutant is.

Several images from theย X-Men: Apocalypseย trailers have shown En Sabah Nur and his companions in an Egyptian temple. This is consistent with the knowledge that Oscar Issac’s character originated in Egypt. You can be sure that his origin story will be delved into more in the movie.
20th Century Fox is turning their advertising for the film up a notch by trying different things than just movie trailers.ย The conspiracy video is called In the Footsteps Of… En Sabah Nur. Itย plays off of the old showย In Search Of… narrated by Leonard Nimoy. And yes, that is George Takei narrating in place of his old friend.
This teaser video is intended to grab the audience’s interest and play off of nostalgia. Fox has really been working hard in preparation for the latest X-Men film. They have also released a commercial featuring Quicksilver and a few other mutants at Xavier’s school. The commercial is designed to promote UK broadband provider Sky Fibre.

In addition, the X-Men Movies Twitter account has been featuring images of civilizations falling. They are dubbed “The Ages of Apocalypse.” These blame the villain for several historical calamities. The official X-Men website also has created a timeline for En Sabah Nur.

Of course, the conspiracy video is less than a minute long, and the other forms of advertisements are also brief glimpses. For those who are truly curious about Apocalypse’s past, they will have to wait until the movie officially releases on May 17.
