Nintendo has announced plans to bring two more of their popular franchises to mobile this fall, Fire Emblem, and Animal Crossing will each be getting some form of content for smartphones.
Originally reported byย Takashi Mochizuki at the Wall Street Journal, the announcement comes as a no-brainer to fans of the big N. Fire Emblem’s turn-based action-strategy combat system will work perfectly on mobile platforms, and isn’t too graphically demanding. Animal Crossing meanwhile was almost born to be a mobile game, the casual life-simulator has players take control of a new resident in a town populated by animals, taking part in a fishing contest, decorating homes and communicating with friends.
Despite these great franchise coming this fall, Nintendo still hasn’t brought their more famous IPs to mobile platforms, a certain Italian plumber has yet to make his leap to smartphones.
Don’t expect a full-fledged Fire Emblem game this fall “while making it more accessible in comparison to the Fire Emblem games for Nintendoโs dedicated gaming systems, Nintendo aims to offer the great value of a role-playing strategy game” as was originally reported by the Wall Street Journal. Animal Crossing meanwhile will interact with other titles in the franchise “Nintendo will design the latter game so that it will be connected to the world of Animal Crossing for dedicated gaming systems.”
