Nintendo’s anticipated The Legend of Zelda sequel is replete with many of the same features as Breath of the Wild. That includes the climbing and stamina mechanics, which limit how high you can scale without falling to your doom. And similarly, both games feature the same gear set to allow Link to better traverse. So,  if you’re looking for how to get the climbing gear in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom so you can climb faster and further, here’s what you need to know.

As alluded to above, while stamina governs how far you can climb, in order to climb faster you’ll need specific gear. This was the same case in Breath of the Wild, and the actual gear set required is identical. All you need to do is equip the climbing gear before scaling up a cliff or structure and then you’ll notice that Link’s speed is greatly increased. This essentially means that you’ll be able to make your way up larger structures and surfaces without having to invest more hearts into Stamina. Of course, a combination of both is ideal.

The Climbing Gear is located in the North Hyrule Plain Cave, an area found northeast of the New Serenne Stable. You can see in the image above exactly where it’s at. You’ll know when you’ve arrived at the right spot because there’s a man outside the cave entrance. He’ll explain that he’s looking for Bubbul Gems. The exact coordinates are -1190, 0662, 0062.

After you’ve ventured inside the case, your first port of call will be battling the two Like Likes nearby. Deal with them using your bow to target their weak spot (the weird growth in their mouths), then you can whale on them with your melee.

Next, use the Ascend ability on the rock sticking out from the waterfall. There’s another enemy to take down here. After you’ve beaten it, follow the water until you come to a waterfall with glowing Brightbloom Seeds nearby. Take a swan dive into the water and through the waterfall to locate the chest. This has the Climbing Gear inside. But don’t turn around quite yet as there’s a Bubbul Frog at the end of the cave who has a Gem you can sell later.

Climbing Bandana Location

It’s worth noting that in addition to the Climbing Gear, there’s also other useful apparel that increases climbing speed. In Breath of the Wild, there was a bandanna and boots, and we expect that’s the case in Tears of the Kingdom too. As yet, though, we’ve only found the Bandanna. It’s located in the Ploymus Mountain Cave, coordinates 3714, 0494, 0310.

Climbing Boots Location

As for the Climbing Boots, these can be found in Upland Zorana, near Zora’s Domain. Specifically, you’re looking for a cave called Upland Zorana Byroad at the coordinates 2860, 0349, 0227.

That does it for how to get the climbing gear in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom so you can climb faster and further. For more useful content on the game, including Shrine walkthroughs, keep it locked to The Nerd Stash. You can check out the below video for a visual walkthrough.
