How to Start the Griffin Hunt
Before looking for the griffin, you must take the Blacksmith’s Blues side quest. To do this, go to The Counter in The Hideaway and talk to August to start it. August will tell you that Blackthorne is upset and ask you to talk to him. After talking to Blackthorne, you will need to speak to Charon, who will tell you about the leather design and the griffin. Your next stop will be the Hunt Board, where Nektar will be standing next to you, and you can get a note about the location of the griffin. From the note, you will learn that it is located somewhere between Lostwing and Caer Norwent, and it is time to search for it.
How to Find the Dozmare Griffin in FF16
Your next step should be to travel to Lostwing. Once you arrive there, open the map and look for the Norvent Valley sign on the map, it will tell you that you are heading in the right direction. Continue south on this path until you reach a bend, after which you will see a bridge you must cross to reach the southernmost part of the map. After crossing this bridge, you’ll notice several trees on your right, and you’ll be able to see the castle in the middle. Head there, and you will find Dozmare. How to Beat Dozmare in Final Fantasy 16
The first attack we want to discuss is an AOE skill the enemy will use to keep you away from him. When he starts to perform this attack, you will notice a yellow glow underneath and wind that forms around. When the griffin casts this attack, a wave of wind will form around it, damaging you. Try to get as far away from Dozmare as possible to avoid this.
The enemy also performs the second attack in the air, but if you don’t see a yellow glow underneath but can see that the enemy has spread its wings, it will now perform a swift lunge in your direction. It is important to react in time because the enemy performs this attack quite quickly. To avoid getting hurt, dodge to the right or left to make the griffin fly past you.
The last and probably the most powerful attack is called Noble Dive. You will immediately notice how the griffin casts this attack, as it will fly in a circle in the air and glow. When it finishes flying, it will rush at you, just like in the previous case, and after it lands, an energy ring will form, which will continue to move across the battlefield. To avoid this attack, dodge a swift lunge to the right or left and immediately prepare to dodge the energy ring.
