Blizzard just fixed a seemingly minor UI bug in Diablo 4 that allowed anyone to send spam messages to any Battle.net ID. Players have been getting countless friend request messages that link to different websites that sell in-game gold. The issue was so prevalent, that players took to social media to share their experiences. Mike Ybarra, the President of Blizzard, tweeted that this was not intentionalย and that the UI bug in Diablo 4 allowing others to access anyone’s ID was a serious issue that has finally been taken care of. Blizzard is now trying to ban all the accounts that were responsible for the spam messages to Diablo 4 players.

Ybarra admitted that the issue was very annoying, and Diablo 4 players won’t have to deal with it anymore. As always, players took to Reddit with their stories, with some saying they woke up to 15 or more pending requests selling Diablo 4 gold, while others said they’d receive one notification every hour on the dot.

Diablo 4 Post-Launch Problems Blizzard Had To Deal With

Diablo 4 had a solid launch, but this isn’t the first major stumble Blizzard has had to deal with since then. Only one week ago an update for the game made getting some unique items very easy. This spread like wildfire, but by the time Blizzard fixed the issue, a lot of players had taken advantage of the exploit. But luckily, Blizzard has allowed everyone to keep said items even after the problem got fixed.

Blizzard also had to deal with a major DDoS attack not too long ago, which disrupted the game’s online experience for over 24 hours. This resulted in players demanding that the game have an offline-only mode.

In other Diablo 4 news, the game has been getting constant updates and hotfixes, and the recently released update 1.0.4 upped loot drops and experience rewards. If you’re enjoying Diablo 4, check out our extensive guides on the game here.
