Britney Spears has been through a lot, and she will detail it all in her book, The Woman in Me, releasing on October 24. This comes after publishers bid for the rights to the memoir. Gallery Books, a subset of Simon & Schuster, won the bidding war.

Material is plentiful for a book by Britney Spears telling her story. She will dive into her music career and personal life. She received a recent spotlight in 2021 for her testimony to end her long-standing conservatorship. After the testimony, the conservatorship ended in November, concluding the 13 years she had to live with under her father’s control.

The upcoming memoir release date came from People magazine. The publisher called the book “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.” As much of her life has been told in various forms under her conservatorship, she has been unable to tell it from her perspective without media or other interference. She had opportunities to do so after the conservatorship ended, with interview possibilities from Oprah and more coming in. She declined all of those, deciding to pen her life to tell the world her story on her terms.

The book is the second project from Britney Spears, post-conservatorship. In August 2022, she worked with Elton John for “Hold Me Closer,” a twist on his iconic “Tiny Dancer.” The song was her first single in six years. That gap did not stop it from performing well, as it landed on top of the Billboard dance and electronic chart.

No hard number has been reported with regard to Spears’ payment for the book, but it is estimated to be up to $15 million. The deal was completed last year with Simon & Schuster. You can pre-order now from major book retailers.
