From farming and running his sushi restaurant to escaping sharks and exploring the ocean, Dave the Diver has no shortage of things to do. The Jellyfish Event is a time-limited event that will pop up on your calendar on October 15. That gives you a brief opportunity to take care of your customers with specialty orders. Events like these help keep this diving and restaurant sim fresh and give your purpose. Unfortunately, they can quickly go sideways if you aren’t prepared or don’t know what you’re supposed to do. Here’s everything you need to know about the Jellyfish Event and throwing a great jelly party in Dave the Diver.

Events are one of the main ways that Dave the Diver switches up gameplay, and the Jellyfish Event is no exception. If you’ve played Stardew Valley and you’re familiar with the various seasonal festivals, you’ll know pretty much what to expect. The jelly party in Dave the Diver occurs on October 15, but Cobra will inform you three days prior. Take advantage of this three-day headstart. It’ll put in a great position when the night of the Jellyfish Event arrives.

In the days before the party you’ll notice an uptick in jellyfish spawns. That makes it much easier to catch them, which is definitely what you should be doing during this brief window, especially since it’s your best shot at getting your hands on rare species such as the White Spotted Jellyfish. There are a few different ways to catch jellyfish, but your best bet is to use the Small Net Gun. Doing so allows you to approach them without suffering a nasty sting and making your job harder and more dangerous than necessary. Take as much time as you can to snag as many jellies as possible, that way you’ll have plenty of ingredients.

Other Tips for the Jellyfish Event

The sudden popularity of jellyfish dishes during the event isn’t the only reason you’ll want to stockpile: your overall number of customers will also increase by a substantial amount. Though having a ton of customers can be hectic, especially if you run short of ingredients, it’s an opportunity to make a large profit. Delivering your best dishes will call for different types of jellyfish, so it’s important that you not only have a large number of jellies but also a diverse selection. Be sure to keep an eye on the level of your Wasabi as the night goes on.

Jellyfish dishes are marked with a pink ribbon. That makes it easy to check at a glance whether a given dish is important for the event. Remember that you aren’t in this alone: you have trained staff at your disposal for a reason. Lean on their assistance. It will make dealing with the sudden influx of customers much easier. You can recognize customers who are attending specifically because of the party by their distinctive glow. Prioritize them and make sure they get top-tier treatment, and you’ll be finely rewarded at the end of the event. Last, even though the jelly party in Dave the Diver is all about jellyfish, you should also be serving drinks like beer. Doing so will help you maximize your profit.
