If you’re wondering how many levels are available in Halls of Torment, you aren’t alone. It’s a question that, along with how to unlock more stages, has been asked by many members of the Halls of Torment community. That isn’t really surprising considering how challenging the roguelike Diablo-like is. Players naturally want to tackle even harder stages in their next run and maybe unlock more Classes too. Without further ado, then, let’s explain.

Number of Halls of Torment Levels Explained

At the time of writing, Halls of Torment only feature three levels, or Halls as they are called in-game. Of course, these do not count the Character Select level and the Campsites:

  1. Haunted Caverns
  2. Ember Grounds
  3. Forgotten Viaduct

Chasing Carrots, the Halls of Torment developer, wrote that they do not have a concrete update roadmap. The team thinks that fixed roadmaps will not help them “create a cool game.” Nevertheless, they are planning to launch a huge update sometime in July 2023. Adding more characters, skills, and even the currently unnamed “Stage 4.”

Still, although at the moment there are only three levels in Halls of Torment, every stage presents its own challenges. Haunted Caverns is crawling with basic enemy types such as Skeletons, Slimes, Imps, and Hellhounds. There are four bosses in the first levels, which are Skeleton Lord, Imp Chieftain, Lich, and the final boss named Lord of Pain. There is an interesting secret that you can unlock to make the final boss fight much easier to swallow. Sometimes, you can find blood trails near a Well. If you follow the blood trail, you can obtain an item called Token of Pain. Reach the Lord of Pain while carrying the Token and you will instantly deal huge damage to the boss.

Meanwhile, the second Halls of Torment level, Ember Grounds, starts adding more variants of the base enemies. Including Scorched Skeletons and Poison Slimes. Just like in the previous level, you will face off against four bosses in this area too. They are the Wraith Warlord, Wyrm Queen, Flamedancer, and Lord of Regret. Defeating the Wyrm Queen will let you unlock the Warlock Class.

Lastly, the Forgotten Viaduct shelters tougher monsters like the Wraiths and Gargoyles. The four bosses that you can find in this Halls of Torment level are the Wraith Horseman, Frost Knight, Hydra, and Lord of Despair.
