The Trident is the only universal weapon in Minecraft. It can be used as a melee weapon or thrown at enemies. But as the item cannot be crafted and only obtained from a Drowned mob, acquiring one can be difficult. All things considered, you definitely wouldn’t want to farm Drowned just to have a stock of the weapon despite its convenience. Instead, it’s better to repair a damaged Trident in Minecraft with an Anvil using this method.

First, you can repair a Trident using the Mending Enchanted Book in Minecraft Bedrock and Java Edition. Head to an Enchanting Table or an Anvil, then drag your damaged Trident to the slot. Afterward, drag the Mending Book from your inventory to the other slot. It takes 1 Experience Orb to restore 2 points of durability.

The Enchanted Book itself can be obtained from chests in Jungle Temple, Stronghold, and Ancient City. Bedrock owners can also try their hands on Raids in those locations. Trading with any Librarian, or Master Level Swamp Librarian if you use the Villager Trade Rebalance Datapack, works as well.

Meanwhile, if you don’t mind sacrificing one Trident for another, then you can combine them in an Anvil. This Minecraft Trident repair method can also be done on a Grindstone or Crafting Table, but you will lose all of its Enchantments.

You might think the only way to find a Trident is to pry it from dead Drowned cold hands. Then pray to the RNGod as it has a low drop rate. In Java Edition, it has a 6.25% drop rate while it’s 15% in Bedrock.

However, you can actually trade a Nautilus Shell for a Trident with a passive Drowned carrying one in Minecraft. It works quite often but not always as they can be easily aggroed. This way you can repair a near-broken one using another Trident from the Minecraft mob.

The Trident is a very handy weapon, especially if you have the Loyalty Enchantment that allows you to take it back after being thrown. However, after several uses, it’ll soon break– as Trident only has 250 durability just like an Iron Sword! Not to mention that the weapon dropped by Drowned also comes with random durability points. With that in mind, you have to repair Trident quite often from time to time in Minecraft.

Minecraft is available on Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles.
