Microsoft has announced a deal with Sony, saying Call of Duty will remain on Xbox and PlayStation.

One of the biggest questions during the whole Activision Blizzard acquisition had to do with Call of Duty. It is one of the world’s biggest game franchises and brings a lot of money for its developers yearly. With ABK becoming part of Microsoft, players wondered about the franchise’s future regarding exclusivity. This deal is fantastic news for owners of PlayStation platforms as the future was uncertain.

Sony and Microsoft Announce a Deal to Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation

It is great that Sony and Microsoft have made a deal regarding Call of Duty and its future. Most of the player base comes from PlayStation, and many wondered how the latest deal with Activision Blizzard would affect the game. Thankfully, players won’t have to fear anything as the game will remain available on all platforms. However, it is uncertain if it is a provisional deal or if it’ll be permanent. It could be temporary while Microsoft turns the game into an exclusive years down the road, or it might not happen and let players enjoy this FPS game on every platform.

Undoubtedly, this has been one of the biggest acquisitions in the history of games, and people worldwide are both excited and afraid. Yet, the new deal from Microsoft and Sony about Call of Duty is great and gives hope to players as it seems the companies are thinking about their consumers. But, as we mentioned, time will tell.

We’ll have to wait and see how everything unfolds in the coming months and prepare for the imminent changes of some big franchises. Yet, even with the latest Bethesda acquisition, Microsoft has released and kept some of its games on all platforms, which bodes well for the future of gaming.
