The Bottom of the Barrel DMZ mission is a Tier 3 Crown faction mission, requiring you to extract some critical documents from Koschei Complex. However, you will have to play the game bit longer since there are three tasks you need to complete. So, let’s look at how to complete the Bottom of the Barrel DMZ mission.
Completing the Bottom of the Barrel Mission in DMZ
You can complete the Bottom of the Barrel DMZ mission by extracting the research document from the locked room in Koschei Complex. However, you need three steps to complete this mission, as below.
- Trade the Shopkeeper a Bottle of Liquor in exchange for the key code.
- Enter the code into the locked room keypad at the Alpha Cluster entrance.
- Extract the Research Documents from the room.
However, before you infill into the Koschei Complex, you must find a Liquor Bottle, two Spark Plugs, and two Batteries. Liquor Bottles are commonly found inside refrigerators, and Spark Plugs and Batteries are in various locations around the map. Once you have your items, you can go to the Koschei Complex and start the Bottom of the Barrel DMZ mission.
1. Trading the Shopkeeper a Bottle of Liquor in Exchange for the Key Code
If you are a veteran player, you must be familiar with the Koschei Complex locations, and you can easily find the Shopkeeper’s location in the factory section of the complex. But remember, the area is heavily guarded, so you must have some combat skills to make it through alive. Once you reach the Shopkeeper, open the dead drop and drop the Liquor Bottle there. Then you can grab the code on the floor to open the locked door between the chemical plant and the Alpha Cluster. This key is needed to extract research papers and complete the Bottom of the Barrel DMZ mission.

2. Entering the Code Into the Locked Room Keypad at the Alpha Cluster Entrance
This is the second part of the Bottom of the Barrel DMZ mission. The Alpha Cluster is on the opposite side of the chemical factory and the factory admin. You must attach Spark Plugs and Batterie between the two doors to power them up. Then you can open one of the doors and enter the Alpha Cluster. If you enter from the left door, the very first door to the left is the door that you must open. You can enter the code into the keypad to open the door and get inside.
3. Extracting the Research Documents From the Room
Once inside the room, the Research Documents will be on the small table. Grab and secure them on the backpack. Then, your exfill will be the elevator at the beginning of the large open room.
