Xbox has been adding small and useful console features lately, and today it’s delivering a simplified experience to pair accessories. The previous update was an advanced rest mode that lets you manage power consumption at specific hours. Quietly, we see another useful feature on the console which saves time by speeding up the accessory pairing process. The new update is available for Xbox One and Xbox Series. Both generations originally let the users pair their accessories by pressing a button, which was not an optimal way to handle that quickly. Here’s how to use it and how it affects your comfort in doing small tasks on Xbox.

Xbox Adds Time-Saver Pairing Feature

Unlike PlayStation, Xbox consoles have a button to start pairing new accessories. That includes controllers, headsets, and all Xbox-compatible devices. Even though that’s a one-time process, it’s still tedious to leave the couch and press that button every time. Especially if you’re the one sharing accessories with friends, pairing devices starts to be a boring process. Fortunately, a new feature on Xbox lets you handle the entire process on the screen. The feature is accessible on the settings, and Tom Warren shares how it’s done:

PlayStation users will know a USB cable is required for controller pairing, and the process runs on the screen for other types of accessories. That’s not the fastest way to pair devices, but it’s functional. With the recent feature arriving on Xbox, the digital process is clearly the best way to connect devices to a console. We hope to see the same functionality on PlayStation consoles as soon as possible. Both console brands started bringing a lot of small but useful features lately. PlayStation managed to integrate Discord into PlayStation Network’s voice chat, and Xbox now has a new user interface. Competition always makes rewards the players, so we’re glad to see the improvements on both sides.
