Baldur’s Gate 3 is all about strategy and using your resources correctly. These things can save your team; whether it’s health potions, elixirs, and spells.ย these things can save your team. But here’s the thing: how long do elixirs actually last? Once consumed, elixirs provide benefits during battles or exploration. However, without knowing their duration, you and the entire party can get yourself in trouble. Staying in the know is essential for every strategy game, and this is especially valuable for Baldur’s Gate 3. You must plan a few moves ahead since you have limited attack rolls, and a single elixir can change the outcome.

Baldur’s Gate 3 elixirs last until you and the party take a long rest at the campsite. This means you can enjoy their effects through battles and exploration. While they aren’t permanent, elixirs offer a significant advantage due to their extended duration. Potions, on the other hand, often have shorter lifespans.

To check an elixir’s duration, hover over its tooltip icon next to your character’s avatar. If you are still new and you don’t know how to take a long rest, simply return to the camp, find a safe spot, click the campfire icon, choose “Long Rest,” confirm, and your party will regain spells and health after a night’s rest.

In theory, you can prolong the lasting effect of elixirs in Baldur’s Gate 3 by constantly taking short rests. However, this is not easy, as you will eventually need a long rest to regain your spells, health, and other resources and supplies.
