What are Sliders, and how do they work in Madden 24? The Madden franchise is the most well-known American football gaming series on the market. Electronic Arts partnered with the NFL to deliver titles that look accurate and feature the most popular teams ever. You can customize the game’s setting to match your preferred style or make it more realistic. “Slider” is a term to shorthand describe changing specific in-game settings. Madden 24’s Sliders include changing the game’s Penalties, Player Skill, and CPU Skill.

Sliders are used in the options of the Main Menu to change the gameplay in Madden 24. When highlighting one of the options, you can press left or right to change the numerical value of a setting. Moving the numerical value forwards or backward is refer as “sliding.”

For example, all the settings under the Penalties selection start with 50/99. If you press the left button or “slide” to the left while highlighting the Offside option, the numerical value drops to 49/99. This will modify the base chance per play for CPU defenders to go offsides.

The default settings of all the Sliders are based on data collected by NFL and tend to start at 50/99. While the settings option in Madden 24 lets you change multiple features, Sliders refers primarily to the Penalties, Player Skill, and CPU Skill. You can find all three options under the Main Settings option in the Main Menu selection.

There are also XP Sliders that you control during career mode that determines the regression speed of your players as they age. Reducing the rate slows the regression, whereas increasing the rate speeds it up.

What Are All the Slider Options in Madden 24?

Changing Penalty Sliders like Offside and False Start will determine how often a CPU will perform them. It also affects how often a referee will call them out in Madden 24. Altering your Player Skill and CPU Skill will affect the players on the field. Player Skill centers around your team and players, whereas CPU Skill affects how well the CPU plays in certain aspects.

Adjusting specific sliders for Player Skill will determine how effective your players are with certain activities. For instance, changing the QB Accuracy affects how well your quarterback passes a football.

The full Sliders options for Penalties are listed below:

  • Offside
  • False Start
  • Offensive Holding
  • Facemask
  • Illegal Block in the Back
  • Roughing the Passer
  • Defensive Pass Interference

The following Penalty options can be toggled on and off rather than changing the numerical value.

  • Ineligible Receiver Downfield
  • Offensive Pass Interference
  • Kick Catch Interference
  • Intentional Grounding
  • Roughing the Kicker
  • Running into the Kicker
  • Illegal Contact

Player Skill and CPU Skill have the same options.

Passing –

  • QB Accuracy
  • Pass Blocking
  • WR Catching

Rushing –

  • Run Blocking
  • Fumbles

Pass Defense –

  • Reaction Time
  • Interceptions
  • Pass Coverage

Rush Defense –

  • Tackling

Special Teams –

  • FG Power
  • FG Accuracy
  • Punt Power
  • Punt Accuracy
  • Kickoff Power

The purpose of Sliders in Madden 24 is to change the settings to make the game the way you want it to be. If you find one aspect of the game too difficult or inaccurate to real-world football, you can go to the settings option to change it to match your preference.

If you think refs are being too lenient on Penalties, you can change the Penalty selections to make the game more accurate to real life. Likewise, if you’re having difficulty passing the ball, you change your Player Skill to make passing easier.
