The latest update of Genshin Impact has brought many new things alongside the new region to the game. The most notable are all the new characters and questlines in the Fontaine region. Among the quests, there are several that are pretty long and may become longer without a little bit of help. So here is how to complete the Illusion’s Finishings in Genshin Impact.
Illusion’s Finishings Guide in Genshin Impact
The good thing about Illusion’s Finishings quest in Genshin Impact is that you don’t need to complete any prior task or quest to unlock it. It would be best to head northwest from the Statue of the Seven in the Beryl. You will see a little creature having trouble with some NPCs in there. Defeat them, and then Paimon will start talking to that creature, which happens to be a Melusine named Mamere.
After a long conversation between the two, you will get the quest “A Brush of Seafoam and Crimson”. The first subquest of it is called Illusion’s Finishing. The overall steps you have to take in order to finish this quest are:
- Go to Merusea Village
- Speak with Mamere
- Go to Mamere’s House
- Walk around and find the bottle
- Collect the mentioned Paint
- Use the prisms to resonate with the ore
- Find Mamere and head to the designated location
- Adjust the position of the prism to resonate it with the ore
- Talk and then go to Mamere’s house
- Defeat the Eremites
Once you get the quest, dive deep into the pod you see before you and follow the quest navigation point to reach the Merusea Village. You have to dive deep and swim and surface on the other side.
After you’ve surfaced, you have to jump down and then go to the right side to activate the Teleport Waypoint of this location. Then use the cave entrance above it to continue your way until you meet another Melusine named Cosanzeana. Once the conversation is over, you will get another navigation point that will lead to Mamere, and make sure to activate the Teleport Waypoint that is nearby as well.
Your next will be to go to Mamere’s house. This is the least challenging part of this quest since you must follow the blue mark on your map to reach Mamere’s home. There is no tricky path, hidden or blocked entrance to pass. Then you will engage in a conversation and be tasked with simply walking around.
What you have to do here actually is to interact with the Bottle near Mamere’s house. Then a short conversation will take place, and your next task will be given, which is to collect the paint. Once again, all you have to do is follow the marker until you reach the location. However, be prepared for the next task given to you.
Once you’ve reached that location and spoken with Mamere, your task will change to using prisms to resonate with the ore. To do that, you must hit the prism with your weapon, and it will shoot a purple wave. You must hit it so that its wave will hit the ore. Once the wave hits it, the ore will activate it.
There is a second ore to activate, which is trickier. First, take care of the enemies so they won’t cause any disturbance. There are two prisms, one that is glowing and the other that is not. Hit the glowing prism so that its wave will hit the inactive prism to activate it. Then head to the prism you’ve just started and use it to activate the last one. Then find and talk with Mamere.

Afterward, you will be tasked with going to the Designated Location, which is not that far. Go near the Pink object and select the “A Very Warm Place” option. You will be teleported to another location where you have to complete the use of prism once again to activate some ores.
This time you can move the prisms as well. So go near the prism, hit the button indicated to move, and place it in front of the ore. Hit it with your weapon to shoot a wave in the direction of the ore to activate it. Once the first one is activated, move the prism again and place it in the order of another prism along the water current.
Hit the prism to send a wave to activate the other prism. Once you’ve started it, pick it up and move it further so it can be used to activate the last one. Please place it in a direction in which its blast will hit the ore to start it. Once that is done, you have finished all the major points of The Illusion’s Finishings quest.
Now fast travel back to Mamere’s house to speak with Mamere. Once you get there, many Eremites have already arrived, and you must fight them. The fight isn’t long or too hard. After defeating them all, a cutscene will be played, and the quest will be complete.
