Even going as far as fan casting the likes of Danny DeVito to voiceĀ DetectiveĀ Pikachu.Ā As for the character itself, PikachuĀ was portrayed asĀ Sherlock, with a human companion named Tim. They both would go around fighting crime as detectives.
With the announcement of the live actionĀ Detective Pikachu film in the works, Legendary has not given a release date or any casting announcements. Production is to start in 2017, so your best bet is to see a possible 2018-2019 release, sometime in the summer release window.Ā Warner Brothers will continue to release animated films, so don’t worry.

All of this comes on the heels of the huge success ofĀ mobile gameĀ Pokemon Go. Nintendo shares are 25% and as of this week, are worth more than Sony. With the renewed interest in the franchise, it is no surprise a live-action film is in the works.
